How do you get slow text on BlackBerry Storm 9500?

I'm using an old BlackBerry Storm 9500 and when i text/bbm it's on predictive text and it's annoying when I can't use my own words without it being corrected. How can i disable it so i just can just type key by key or letter by letter?
