Can I use BBM on an unlocked blackberry bold 9700?

I have a htc hero with t-mobile but I'm getting bored of it. I'm considering getting an unlocked blackberry bold without sim, and putting my current sim card into it, but would that work? And would I be able to use bbm as well? Also my current sim card has unlimited internet so would that work on the bold 9700?
